Battlefield 2 InterviewHomeLanFed had a chance to interview EA's new Mod Coordinator and Lawrence Brown (aka Captain Guy Smiley from the Pirates mod). Modders should check this out.HomeLAN - With Battlefield 2 coming up, what plans does EA have in supporting mods for that game?
Lawrence Brown - That’s a big question. We have some amazing things planned, things you’ve never seen any game publisher do before. Unfortunately, I’m not at liberty to say anything more specific at the moment other than I’ll give you the following example: For BF2, among other things, DICE is creating the mod tools at the same time as they are making the game. This means modders won’t have to reverse-engineer the game like we had to with bf42. Everything will be there and working from the beginning. Let’s just say that as a modder myself, I’m very excited about what’s going to happen with BF2. [Full Story]

HL2 rated ma15+ in AusAll of us HL fans in Austrlia can rest a little easier with the offical annoucement from the The Office of Film Literature Classification that hl2 will be rated MA15+ the highest classification any video game can recieve under current law in Australia for the full article click Here

Steam platform updatecliffe has just reported on the steam powered forums that a new steam client update has been released. Here is a quote from the website
A platform update is available and will be applied automatically when Steam is restarted. The changes include:

Added Tools section to Steam UI
Fixed Japanese, Thai, and Russian characters drawing incorrectly under Windows 98
Fixed DoD:S showing up in the Steam monitor as downloading
Fixed HL2 preloading stuck at 89% for some users
Fixed condition causing "non-zero size of m_uMallocedBlock"
