UTComp v14b Released

Unreal Tournament server admins, listen up. A new version of UTComp has been released. Here is the UTComp version 14b change log:

- Fixed game sometimes starting on its own with no players in time-limited warmup
- Fixed UT2004 bug where skins would sometimes not show properly in onslaught
- Added Editor's Choice Bonus Pack models to forcemodel
- Added Editor's Choice Bonus Pack vehicle icons in team overlay
- Added Editor's Choice Bonus Pack vehicle statistics in stats

Insurrection Released

Another version of the Insurrection mod has been released.

Unfortunately there can't be a small patch since basically every part of the mod has been adjusted. I've always tried to keep our mod at an extremely small file size, so I know you all can grab it. My apologies about the inordinate amount of bugs to be found in 0.2. Be sure that this version is much much cleaner. Big thanks goes out to those who gave us a try and play online.

-Cannons all rescripted and fully operational now. (Soldiers manning cannons can be shot as well as collision all redone on cannons/mortar)
-Weapons all heavily adjusted to make up for lag and create much better online play. Many have been rescripted in how they aim and damage dealt too.
-Lines have been rescripted a bit and should be playable on or offline, and bots should also use them better now.
-The_Indomitable now supports bots, however Push will not in this release.
-Collision on fort pieces all adjusted
-Knife does more damage
-More Static's and maps to come soon in a Map Update
-Plenty of other things behind the scenes to reduce file size and crash to desktop should be fixed now.

Battlefield Conversion Team

The Battlefield Conversion Team has an update for us today. Have a look.

We're still evaluating custom maps to be used in the mod, and one of our coders is creating a new in-game menu theme for our conversion mod, adding 3 new game modes to our mod, for a total of 4 main game modes for the first release. More information on these game modes will be released later when they've been successfully coded. Only 2 of the 4 game modes are working in game. More to come on that later. We have a release date set for our mod to give to DICE, but I'm not going to publicly announce it yet until we get closer to the release date. [Full Story]

Domination Map Pack Released

The Domination Map Pack has been released for UT2004. It contains several professional quality maps for both Double Domination and Classic Domination mod (both are included in package).

The map pack is divided into two files, the first file contains the Double Domination maps and the second file contains the Classic Domination maps.

Xtreme Battlefield Released

The Xtreme Battlefield mod version 1.2 has been released. Check it out!

-Last Man Standing Outside map: Close Combat infantry map with a tunnel
-Last Man Standing City: Last Man Standing City map
-Market Garden Stunt: Market Garden with modded vehicles.
-A large tunnel to fly through. (Look out for secret stuntvehicles)

DC_Xtended

The DC_Xtended mod has an interesting update today. Check it out.

What you just saw above is the spawn menu for the British on British maps. As you can see, most of the classes have British style weapon icons. The icon is just the main weapon for the class. But hold on to your hats cause this is going to please a lot of map makers.

The spawn menu interface is "Active". It's not hard coded into the game. The text displayed for each class can be completly customized and so can the icon shown. Since DCX has many classes and spawnable kits, you will notice that on some maps the text is different and so is the icon. The kits used in the map is what dictates what will be shown in the classes. So if a map maker were to use an AA kit for the third class, the text would show stingers and no SMAW and the icon would be a stinger too! But wait... there's more! [Full Story]

Red Orchestra 3.1

The Red Orchestra mod has an update for their fans today. Have a look.

Ever see bullets landing all around you and feel like something is missing? Or that a shot just came out of nowhere and took you down? Well we have introduced a bullet “whiz” system. When a bullet passes by the player within a certain proximity, they will hear a 3d positional “whiz” of that round going past! The closer the round the louder the sound that the player will hear. The bullet hit sounds are also improved.

To go along with this new feature, the team has also greatly improved destructible environments for mappers with such things as windows, walls, and more destroyable by bullets, tank rounds, and satchels depending on the object... [Full Story]

BF Community Announcement

EA Games has posted an update for the Battlefield community. Check it out.

Battlecraft 1.2 Released Tunnels! What more do we need to say. Grab the latest version of BCV here:

* Changed mouse-over routines in BCV to be more accurate
* Added tunnel code and tunnel properties dialog for BFV 1.2
* Added new object tab system
* Added graphical icons to entity tree
* Added new objects
* Tweaked Camera On Ground code to be more at player eye view to feel more like walking around the level
* Added code to generate in-game map for underground

Battlecraft 1.2 - 123MB

Over the last couple of months, EA and DICE have seen several mod teams declare their intent to develop content for the Battlefield 2 engine. Some of these teams come from successful Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam teams and others are starting fresh. Battlefield 40K

The Battlefield 40K mod has an update for their fans today. Have a look.

The Battlefield 40k team has been busy working on their mod, new models this week on the Website are the Thunderbolt which has now been skinned. The Imperial Guards Cyclops remote controlled demolition vehicle is now modeled and skinned –Watch out for images on the Website shortly. The alpha version of the mod is being evaluated by our registered alpha testers, the script for the mod is being bug tested prior to a public release of the demo.
